.: JUKEBOX JOCKEY

FIRST LOOKS REVIEW - more info later

Jukebox Jockey is my favourite Music Player of all time. I've spent many hours downloading different players only to find they were buggy or didn't have that OOBE ( Out of Box Experience ) I was looking for. There were those that came close but for me JBJ was the one. There are some great looking Music Player apps out there that are graphically rich with touch flow cover art and initially it makes the listening experience pleasurable but to me listening to music is all about the music not the visuals. JBJ does have cover art but I have not had anytime to test it out.

I really liked the Apple iPod touch interface but I wanted that experience on a PC and Jukebox Jockey provided that feel with so much more. In particular I wanted to be able to scroll through the tracks and then add tracks to the Queue or Playlist and that's exactly what JBJ provides. Just about everything is configurable including the look and layout of the interface. Most file formats are supported with the use of a plug in and with the addition of configurable cross fades, compression and dynamic amplification you can get the sound you really want.

JBJ has the look of a dedicated Music player for D.J's but as a personal Music Player it ticks all the right boxes for me. The support forum is excellent with the authors of the program very willing to assist.

I tested JBJ on a few computers and I have never had an issue with lockups or sound issues. I'm still testing it out and I'll post more details later.
