The V-Stream Xpert DTV DVB-T ( aka DVB-T 100 ) is a Digital TV Tuner Card for SDTV/HDTV manufactured by Kworld Computer Co Ltd in Taiwan. .

This product is supplied with software called DVB Plus. It consists of a viewing/editing/burning application written by Honestech.

The performance of this product is equal to any of the other DVB-T products I have tested and at current street prices it's a bargain.

The current version drivers 4.0.108.0 may cause a few problems for those wanting to use this card with other software such as XPMCE2005 or Showshifter, however these drivers work perfectly with the supplied application.

The DVB Plus application is not perfect, it has a few small bugs but overall it works well.

You can capture DVB-T channels in TS or PS mode and S-Video and Composite Input. I'm not a big fan of software encoding to start with and using the sound card to capture the audio is just asking for trouble, however I gave it a few tests and it worked OK. I much rather use a hardware encoder capture card where I'll get the best results and no A/V sync errors.

The Scheduler is easy to use and even Teletext works.

I found this card works exceptionally well in XPMCE2005. You will have to use the modified drivers and do the usual mods to XPMCE2005 for it all to work but after that it's just perfect.

The modified drivers will have to be used for Showshifter as well but you will have to put up with it taking over 50mins to do an autoscan. I don't see this as being a problem as you only need to do a scan once to get all your channels.

I did not find any problems when running with Showshifter.

The Viewing Application is not designed for HTPC use but it does everything you need for watching and capturing DVB-T.

Conclusion:- For those who are on a budget and want to see what DVB-T is all about or you want a cheap card for XPMCE2005 this is an ideal card.

Although the supplied software does "viewing-capturing-editing-burning" it's not perfect so don't rely on it to work the way you would like it to.
